My passion is unit still photography. Requiring a documentarian's curiosity, a story teller's sensitivity, and a portraitist's eye, film stills lies at the confluence of my interests as a photographer.
I studied photography at The Pennsylvania State University. More recently I've been mentored by film stills legend Kerry Hayes (SMPSP), and by Mary Ellen Mark at the Woodstock Center for Photography, honing the unique skills needed to create film production images for key art, editorial, and marketing/promotion by collaborating with film artists, producers, and publicists. I'm an LA-local member of the International Cinematographer's Guild IATSE Local 600, listed on the Industry Experience Roster, and qualified to work in all 50 states.
Although I'm a New Yorker born and raised, I now live in West Hollywood with my wife Karin, a little dog named Guinness, and a cat named after Janis Joplin. Between films, I enjoy doing portrait work and interesting documentary projects. Over the years, my photos have been internationally exhibited, and are included in a number of museum and private collections.
